Something better is waiting beneath

It can be hard to let things go. Things like the program or course that you poured your heart + soul into. Or the collection of blog posts that you’ve written over the past few years.

The economics world has a professionally sounding term for it - sunk cost. AKA a cost that has already been incurred and can’t be recovered (time, money, energy + love spent).

Trouble is, sometimes you have to let things go - retire the program, delete the blog posts, close the business - in order to find what’s hiding beneath.

Sometimes you just have to hit the reset button.

Delete that video script you spent over an hour on.

Retire the coaching program you poured your heart + soul into.

Restore factory settings.

Sometimes tweaking + working with what you already have is enough. But sometimes you need to clear the decks and start again.

Sometimes you need to close the laptop + spend time away with your family.

Go to the beach.

Feel the sun on your face.

Hitting reset doesn’t mean that you’ve failed.

It doesn’t mean that the time spent on creating the video script or the coaching program or the [insert big idea here], was wasted.

Exploration + experimentation is never a waste.

Sometimes you need to delete things in order to move forward again.

Sometimes what you’re meant to create is hiding underneath the 25, 000 words you’ve already typed.

Trouble is, you can’t see the idea until you clear the clutter.

Take a breath.

And hit reset.

Because something better is waiting beneath.
